Meet Bishop Todd O'Neal and Pastor Linda O'Neal
Rev. Todd E. O’Neal has a rich and varied ministry. Since the age of nine, Rev. O’Neal has served as music minister for Protestant and Roman Catholic churches. He founded the Ohio Unity Choir in 1976, giving concerts and workshops across the country and recording several albums of his original compositions and arrangements. In 1978, Rev. O’Neal began to volunteer at local public schools, founding and directing gospel choirs. The combined high school choirs joined Ohio Unity Choir in performing at the National Governor’s Conference; inaugurations for Ohio’s Governor and Attorney General; and the Ohio Democratic Convention. Rev. O’Neal, also teaches a Gospel Music Workshop annually at the Ghost Ranch Conference Center in New Mexico.
Ordained in the fall of 1976, Rev. O’Neal's work in the missions began in 1980 when he counseled high school students, and led outreach services in Lahore, Pakistan. In 1987, Rev. O’Neal began making annual trips to Grenada and serves on the board of Raise Praise Ministries. In 1986, Rev. O’Neal attended the World Methodist Conference in Kenya. Rev. Todd O’Neal has served as chaplain at correctional institutions since 1976, when he began leading Sunday worship services at the Hamilton County Justice facilities. He led choirs at the Ohio Reformatory for Women and the Lebanon Correctional Institution, and joined Dr. Catherine Roma in four recordings with the Warren, Madison, and London Correctional Men Choirs. Rev. O’Neal was pastor of York Street United Methodist Church from 1986 to 1994. He currently serves at the House of Joy Christian Ministries, an interdenominational congregation he founded in 1994. He teaches and leads worship at the Lakeside for Youth. After the 2004 Hurricane Ivan, Rev. O’Neal, Pastor Neal Whitney, and the Lakeside for Youth made regular trips to assist Grenada. Most recently Bishop O'Neal has begun the DREAM conference in Cincinnati. The DREAM conference offers Art, Drama, Music, Creative writing and Dance in a 4-day workshop for youth and adults. Rev. Todd O’Neal is a graduate of Kentucky State University and the Methodist Theological School in Ohio where he earned his Master of Divinity degree. He is married to the former Linda Fay Buie, a gospel recording artist and missionary. |
Pastor Linda O'Neal is the co-pastor and First Lady of the House of Joy Christian Ministries. She is also a graduate of Kentucky State University, and has sung classical, jazz and Gospel music across the United States with A Touch of Grace and The Ohio Unity Choir. In 1983, she served as a missionary in Pakistan and India. Bishop O'Neal and she have four children.
