Southside's Ministry Teams
Southside's Ministry Teams are committees of the Session, which provide leadership in a variety of areas.  Each team is led by an Elder who reports to the Session.

Adult Education Ministry Team
is responsible for the ongoing education of the congregation.  They lead, arrange, and publicize Bible studies, topical discussions, book study groups, and guest speakers.  They also strive to become aware of, coordinate, and promote educational opportunities beyond the boundaries of Southside Presbyterian Church and the denomination.

Children & Youth Ministry Team provides support and education to Southside's children and youth.  They are charged with planning, developing, and leading the ministry of education in order that Southside's children and youth might be nurtured in their Christian faith.

Communication Ministry Team seeks to creatively and effectively facilitate communication between the church office and the congregation through the publication of a monthly newsletter, the website, and other methods.

Congregational Nurture Ministry Team facilitates Christian fellowship.  They strive to create and maintain a caring church community for individuals and families to come together in friendship, respect, and joy.  By welcoming all people, celebrating special events, reaching out to members, and breaking bread together, the committee upholds the congregational care of Southside Presbyterian Church.

ECO Ministry Team educates themselves and the congregation about global warming and other threats to the environment.  They also explore ways to use few resources in daily life, reduce use of toxic products, and ways to advocate for policy changes which benefit the environment.

Facilities & Maintenance Ministry Team is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of Southside's buildings and grounds.

Personnel Ministry Team is called to oversee and ensure the hiring and coordination of personnel who serve Southside Presbyterian Church.  The Personnel Ministry Team consists of the pastor, an active Elder, and two or three volunteers from the congregation.

Social Justice Ministry Team responds to God's call to action in an unjust world.  They work to mobilize Southside's response to the inequalities and oppression of brothers and sisters in the surrounding barrio, the borderlands, and the world.  They oversee Southside's social justice programs: Cross Street Ministries and the Day Labor Center.

Stewardship & Finance Ministry Team ensures careful and responsible use of the funds that are given to the church.  These offerings and gifts of time, talents, and treasure enable Southside to respond to God's grace.

Worship Ministry Team seeks, with imagination and creativity, to plan joyful worship for the gathered people of God to be nurtured, sustained, and empowered by God's word and to act as Jesus' disciples in the world.
