Southside Workers Center provides a safe place for workers and employers to
negotiate employment while maintaining a healthy relationship with the
surrounding neighborhood. The Center is open Monday through Friday from
6:00-9:30am in the West Parking Lot. Begun in 2006, the Day Labor Center, now Southside Workers Center, was established to provide a safe place for workers and employers to negotiate employment while maintaining a healthy relationship with the surrounding neighborhood. Employers in need of workers with a variety of skills are able to come to the center where a volunteer is available to help negotiate the hiring of a worker. The Center also provides the workers with English classes and the opportunity to play a leadership role in the running of the Center itself. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:00-9:30am in the West Parking Lot. Volunteers are always welcome! |
